FOURTH OF JULY FUN

Coronado Island celebrates with an annual parade, a fun run/walk, rough water swim, art-in-the-park and a concert at Spreckels Park. The day concludes with a spectacular fireworks finale over San Diego Bay. Click here for more details about July 4th in Coronado.

Celebrate early at The Del with a beach party for overnight guests staying on July 2 with a live band, recreational activities, fun games for children and a spectacular fireworks show.

THE DEL'S 125TH ANNIVERSARY

Hotel del Coronado – designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977 – is celebrating its 125th birthday in 2013 with a series of community events, charitable promotions and guest packages. More fun activities to be announced!

• All Year: See the giant sparkly gold bow adorning the resort’s iconic red turret.

• Through June: The City of Coronado has joined in the celebration with festive birthday banners along Orange Avenue.

• June-July: The Coronado Public Library will feature an exhibit highlighting The Del’s 125-year history with never-before-seen photos.

•June-September: The Coronado Historical Association will offer a historic exhibit that pays tribute to the resort’s contribution to the development of Coronado. Hotel founders designed the picture-perfect island community and also donated parkland, planted trees and were responsible for building the city’s first school and library.

• December: The historic Norfolk Island pine outside the Crown Room, the first electrically lit outdoor Christmas tree in America, will be lit once again to commemorate its inaugural lighting in 1904.

The centerpiece of the celebration is the release of a new 208-page history book, Hotel del Coronado History, featuring over 440 images, most of which have never been published before. Click here to purchase the history book online.

SUMMER AT THE DEL

•  Enjoy sitting poolside in your own private cabana. Available for rent daily, these cabanas are a great way to indulge in the delightful resort atmosphere. (overnight guests only)

• Bikes for all ages, surreys and deuce coupes are available for rent from PeDels located on the beachfront walkway.

• And if you’re more interested in just relaxing, the award-winning Coronado Beach is perfect for sun bathing. The Del also offers an award-winning spa and rejuvenating yoga classes on the sand.

• Kids ages 4 to 12 will feel extra special at check-in when they receive their V.I.K. lanyard pass that entitles them to special offers at their favorite spots, including MooTime, Spreckels Sweets & Treats, and Kidtopia.
