TRAVEL+LEISURE NAMES SPA AT THE DEL ONE OF THE TOP 20 HOTEL SPAS IN THE WORLD
Coronado, CA — Spa at The Del was given top honors in Travel + Leisure’s 13th annual World’s Best Awards Readers Survey. Nancy Novogrod, editor-in-chief, announced the winners in the August 2008 issue. Spa at The Del was selected as one of the top 20 hotel spas in the world. A questionnaire was developed by the editors of Travel + Leisure and was made available to subscribers during the first quarter of this year. Respondents reported where they had traveled worldwide and rated only the destination, properties and companies that were relevant to their recent travel experiences. Respondents were asked to rate hotels, cities islands, spas, hotel spas, outfitters/safari operators, cruise lines, airlines and car rental companies on several characteristics. The best hotel spas were rated on ambience, treatments, service and value.
The legendary Hotel del Coronado, located on 28 oceanfront acres, unveiled its spectacular new Spa in 2007. In creating this world-class facility, designers drew upon the resort’s early roots. Spa at The Del introduced an exciting new menu in August 2008, filled with services inspired by the powers of the ocean to heal and restore, relax and invigorate. The signature line of treatments includes the unique Shell Coronado Massage and Shell Coronado Facial, which incorporate seashells that are gently heated to melt away stress. The spa also offers an array of rejuvenating massages, facials, wraps, exfoliation and special treatments for men, women, couples and teens.
