ENO-VERSITY CLASSES NOW IN SESSION
ENO is thrilled to offer “ENO-Versity” classes, where renowned winemakers, cheesemakers and chocolatiers will join Wine Director and Sommelier Ted Glennon in leading ENO-Versity classes through an exploration of the histories, types and flavors of exquisite wines by suggesting cheese and chocolate pairings, each individually chosen to perfectly complement the selection of wines. As an added treat, some ENO-Versity classes will be followed by an intimate connoisseur dinner with the special guest winemaker at 1500 OCEAN. Chef de Cuisine Brian Sinnott creates a fabulous four-course dinner that perfectly complements the class’ featured wines.

  • August 28 – Class: Four Vines and J. Dusi; The Wild Side of Paso Robles
Special Guest Bill Grant, general manager of Four Vines Winery, will share some of their spicy wild blends inspired by Southern France and Spain. Special Guest Janelle Dusi will also be on hand to show off the latest release of her estate Dusi Ranch Zinfandel.

  • September 15 – Wednesday Class: Achaval Ferrer Mendoza, Argentina
This is hands-down one of the very best producers of Malbec on earth! These Malbecs are inky, rich and display laser-like acidity while speaking to their unique sense of place. Join us for a very special Wednesday evening event with one of the owners of the Bodega.

  • September 18 – 1500 OCEAN Connoisseur Dinner: Fortaleza Tequila
Join us for a unique cocktail pairing dinner with special guest Guillermo Sauza. Last May, we hosted an experimental cocktail pairing dinner. Chef de Cuisine Brian Sinnott pushed the envelop for food, and Wine Director Ted Glennon crafted some unique and sexy cocktails while sharing the true history of the Agave. This event was such a success that we are at it again!
  • October 16 – Class & 1500 OCEAN Connoisseur Dinner: Pinot Noir
A cult favorite, Pinot Noir has so many styles from the very best champagne, to full rich red wines as well as rosé and white wines. Join us for a tour through the world of Pinot Noir as we explore wines from California, New Zealand, Germany, Oregon and France.

  • October 23 – Class: Hill Family Estates
A farming family in California for four generations, this family has cared for vineyards for the most esteemed and sought-after wineries in Napa Valley. In 2001, the Hill family finally began making their own wines and they are impressive. You can’t get enough of these hand-crafted family wines, and neither can we. Please reserve early as our previous classes have sold out.

  • November 6 – Class: Baxter Pinot Noir, Carignan and Cabernet
The father and son team behind Baxter wines are focused on vineyard-driven wines. Throughout Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino there are so many small, old vine plantings often used in large blends. Baxter produces many single vineyard, single varietal bottlings from these areas. The wines stand apart in the market as they find a wonderful balance between the structure-driven, old-world style and flashy, fruit-forward, new-world style.

  • November 20 – Class & 1500 OCEAN Connoisseur Dinner: Clairborne & Churchil, Edna Valley
In this green, lush seven-square-mile valley in San Luis Obispo County, world-class Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir is crafted. One of the great secrets of the central coast, these wines are so close in style to their Alsacian influence many of our European guests cannot believe they are truly from California!

  • December 11 – Class & 1500 OCEAN Connoisseur Dinner: Skylark Wine Company
Coronado native Robert Perkins’s Skylark Wine Company makes some very impressive Rhone and Priorat style reds, and Alsacian whites from Mendocino and Sonoma. In 2006, Alondra Skylark’s Napa Cabernet arrived and this wine is sincere and delicious.

ENO-Versity classes are held in the ENO wine tasting room gfrom 4pm to 5:30pm and are $35 per person. Special connoisseur dinners at 1500 OCEAN are at 6pm and cost $70 per person. Guests can attend either class or dinner or both. Space is limited. For reservations and information, please call 619-522-8546.
Space is limited. Guest speakers are subject to change without notice. 3-hour parking is validated with purchase.
